Fitness Friday: Quick & Dirty Shoulder & Neck Release

By   2 Comments

I have to confess, I’m a little annoyed with Laura for this week’s installment of Fitness Friday. Why? Because this is a GREAT tip that I could have used many times, and I only find it out now! Sheesh!!

You know that feeling of having worked at a computer way too long, and you notice your shoulders are up by your ears and your whole upper back is all hunched over?

Me neither.

Ha! I wish.

I am constantly finding myself in this position and correcting it, and often end the day with super sore and tight neck muscles. And as a result, I’m constantly trying to find ways to relax that whole area, often contorting myself into the oddest positions with minimal results.

And then I watch this video and see a super simple – not to mention effective – trick for relaxing that whole area.

Try it, it works! I just did. Aahh… that’s better.

Laura Coleman - justmuscles.net Laura Coleman rocked my world a few years back when she helped me get to the root of all the knee and lower-back issues I’d had since my teens. In just a couple of sessions, Laura put me on a simple program of rehab exercises (unlike any I’d ever seen before) that brought my body back into alignment and actually fixed the problem that no physiotherapist, massage therapist, or chiropractor had ever been able to solve. I was hooked! We’ve been terrific friends and shared many clients since, and I’m delighted that she has offered to share her wisdom with all of you via this Fitness Friday video series. Laura lives in Portland, OR with her two gorgeous daughters. She works her magic at Club Sport and with clients all over the continent via the magic of technology (aka Skype). Check out her blog and website here.
